LIBRARIES FOR BELGIAN MECHANICAL SIGNALLING

Changelogs:

Update 11-01-2011

An update <kuid2:176753:5700090:1> of the Script Library has been found necessary for the Belgian signals to function in TRS19 SP5 and TRS22. These new releases of Trainz appear to be more critical of missing components within assets; they differ in some of the base system's functionality. The changes in the signal scripts of this update deal with this issue, without the need for any change of the signals themselves. Additionally, some modifications have been implemented that concern the timing of the signals lights.

You need to install this update if you are running TRS19 SP5 or TRS22. It is also useful for TANE and older versions of TRS19, since it will result in more prototypical behaviour of the semaphores on brackets.

Look in this pack for a file called Bsig(0009) Belgian Mechanical Signalling - Script Library (SP5-TRS22).cdp

SIGNAL CORONAS

Changelog:

The coronas of these mechanical signal are small and weak. In Trainz, coronas are often high intensity, and not realistic. Remember that the signal lights were originally oil or gas flames, and hardly visible in daylight. This was not important, it is the shape of the semaphore that mattered, and illumination was only intended for the night. In the early days the lamps were not even lit during daytime. With electric lights, the situation improved. During the night, a properly focused lamp only needs a power of a few Watt to be visible over a large distance. The enemy of all this was fog, of course...
